How To Program Your Mind To Accomplish What You Want

I had just accomplished something that in the past I thought was a bunch of hocus pocus. I still remember it vividly.

I took a flaming stick of fire and swallowed it down my throat. I felt no pain only a slight warmth like that of the coffee I drank every morning and savored it as it slowly traveled down my throat.

Then I took my shoes and socks off and before me, there was a pile of broken glass on the floor laid out in a line of approximately six feet long.

I slowly walked over to the broken glass and took the first step. I heard the crunching sound of the glass, but I concentrated and reminded myself that this I have already conquered. I felt no pain. I took the next step and then the next until I walked through the whole line of broken glass with no cuts, no bruises, and no pain.

I watched others do the same thing, including my wife. Her results were the same as mine. Some people got a nick or two but got through the process successfully.

Then there was the ultimate test. I had to coach a woman into believing she was a steel rod and then place her between two chairs and stand up on her stomach for 3–5 seconds without harming her.

This was a breakthrough moment in my training to become a Certified Hypnotherapist (CHT). I took the female volunteer through a subconscious process to the point where her body began to become stiff and ridged. Her spine straighten and her legs and knees locked.

With the help of two assistants, she was placed between two chairs with space between them underneath. I delicately placed my feet on her stomach and stood up and counted the seconds - one, two, three, and four and stepped down.

I then brought her out of the trance and she was fine. She felt no pain and no ill effects because in her mind she was a steel rod and it held up under all of my 202 pounds of weight.

I know this may sound like a fairy tale but it’s totally true. I became a CHT. I had learned the power of the mind and how to use it to accomplish anything I want.

I had been taught and mentored by one of the greatest and best-known hypnotists in the world, Marshall Syler.

Since then I’ve helped lots of people overcome challenges and obstacles they face in life when they couldn’t see their way out of the situation they were in.

As a war-zoned veteran, lawyer, certified hypnotherapist, and ordained minister, I’ve seen or experienced just about everything that a person can go through in life, including watching my own son expire on his death bed after suffering for years with kidney disease.

I’ve also suffered and continue to have challenges from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder ( PTSD) as a result of the war zone experiences so I sought ways to combat the challenges and obstacles in my life. I learned that it all begins and ends within the mind.

How The Mind Works

The mind is a powerful organ and regulates so much of a person’s life. In comparison, it's like a computer. It receives information, processes it, and produces information and results based on the input placed in it.

According to medical and psychological experts, the mind has two main areas of operation. The conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is approximately 10% of our mind and is responsible for analyzing and making decisions on the things we see, hear, feel, touch, taste, and smell and then make conscious decisions whether to accept, reject or otherwise make a choice for short term plans and recording memories.

Things like rationality and self-control are part of the conscious mind. This is referred to as the “critical part of the brain”. This is where problems are recognized and solutions are sought or found to fix those problems.

The subconscious mind is where the game-changing takes place. It controls about 90% of our minds. It does not discriminate or rationalize information input it just accepts whatever we put in it and then regurgitates that information in thoughts, emotions, strength, beliefs, abilities, actions, or inaction.

Just like a computer, whatever you put into your subconscious mind creates the foundation of what you get out. The subconscious mind is in control because it processes most of the information about our environment.

If you learn how to feed the subconscious mind you can change your entire life for good or bad. Therefore one must be careful what is allowed inside the subconscious mind because what it is fed will grow and produce a harvest the same as any seed that is planted in physical soil

Thus, if you feed it negative things or allow negatives to override the positives that is what your mind and body will manifest and produce.

Is it any wonder then that so many people are limited because of what they’ve been told when they were children or the bad experiences that they have lived over and over again in their memory?

If you’re constantly told you’re attractive your subconscious will accept that and cause your mind to focus on your attractive features. You will feel, act, and even look more attractive. On the contrary, it’s the same if you’ve always been told and reinforced that you are unattractive.

Remember, the subconscious does not discriminate. It accepts and spits out what has been planted within it. The only way to change it is to change the messages and images that go into the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind never sleeps. When you are sleeping it is awake and working on what is placed into it during the waking hours and then produces thoughts and action from the input.

The good thing about all of this is you can combat anything negative with something positive and over time your subconscious can be trained to produce what you want it to.

It takes work but it can be done. When I found this out it changed my life.

That is the reason I was able to walk on broken glass, swallow flames of fire and convince a woman that she was a rod of steel without harm to either of us. I tapped into the subconscious mind and its awesome power.

Everything we need to be and can be is contained within our minds, especially the subconscious mind.

The power to change is within every person. It’s all about mindset and the subconscious mind.

There are many great books on the powerful and life-changing things the mind can accomplish.

Books like “think and grow rich” by Napoleon Hill are a relic about the power of thought.

You can change your life by changing the thoughts that you allow to feed your subconscious.

“Your subconscious mind does not argue with you. It accepts what your conscious mind decrees. It is ruled by suggestion, it accepts all suggestions. It does not argue with you — it fulfills your wishes.” Joseph Murphy.

Make your suggestions and thoughts those that feed your subconscious with strength, power, courage, and prosperity and the magic will appear. If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think of a negative one.

Conclusion

You have the power to reinvent yourself. It all beings with your mind. Your conscious mind gives you reason and fights to protect you through analyzing and making conscious choices. However, it the subconscious that controls and produces thoughts that become actions, good or bad.

Feed it with strength, power, positivity, and prosperity. It will take whatever suggestions you give it and make it happen.

God himself makes a statement on consciousness and thought and how it should be approached

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
